Audio blind test

How to use

Add audio file(s):

How to use

This tool allows you to blindly listen to the differences in two or more audio files. “Blindly” meaning that the audio files are presented in a random order and their file names are hidden until you choose to show them.
For example, you can test if you are able to hear differences between several degrees of audio compression. Or you can find out which reverb effect you like best when you only listen to them without knowing which audio corresponds to which effect.

Step by step guide

Step 1: Select two or more audio files (WAV, MP3, ...) using the “Browse...” button.
Step 2: When all audio files that you wish to use for blind testing are displayed above the “Browse...” button, click “Shuffle and load audio!”.
Step 3: Listen to the audio files using the player controls and form an opinion on them (for example, choose your favourite).
Step 4: To find out which file is played by each audio player, click “Solve”.

Notes

Make sure that all audio files have different names, even if they are located in different file directories. File directory names can not be shown.
The audio players show the length of the audio files, so you should only load files that have the same length.
This tool runs entirely in your browser, no files are transferred to any server. You can also download this page and use it without internet connection.
